#8: Where are other Produce 101 season 2 contestants now? (Part 1)

Hello everyone!! This week’s blog are about Produce 101 season 2 again! since the 11 contestants made it till the final evaluation as got to debut as ‘Wanna one’ ( you can check out more information about Wanna one here), what about other 90 contestants?, what are they doing right now? This blog will get you guys to know more about other trainees from the program!

Samuel (사무엘)

Kim Samuel from Brave Entertainment, a talented young boy who got 18th place in the final evaluation from Produce 101 season 2 ( I really wish he could make it to the top 11 at that time ㅜ ㅜ ), has been trained for singer idol skills since he was a child at Pledis Entertainment. He also a former member of a duo group name ‘1PUNCH’.

After the show ends, He get debuted as a solo artist with his first  album ‘Sixteen’ with title track ‘Sixteen’ featuring rapper ‘Changmo’.

The title song ‘Sixteen (식스틴)’ is a well-designed EDM track about  his thoughts towards a girl he has a crush on and would like the year of being 16 years old is the best thing of their life. The lyrics are mostly innocent ideal love concept for ordinary 16 year old teenager, which quite can be relatable for most people. The music videos vibes is also pleasant to watch.

Jung Sewoon (정세운)

 

Jung Se Woon from Starship Entertainment, who got 12th place for the final evaluation and was the contestant of K-pop Star3, also get to debut as a solo artist with his first mini album titled ‘Ever’ with title track ‘Just U’.

If you can remember, I have already mentioned Se woon on my third blog. However, I still assure that his debut title track is a really good song.

‘Just U’ is is a song about his affection towards a girl whom he falls in love with, expresses by perfect combinations of his outstanding and charming vocal with the lively guitar and percussion, and also melodic rap by Sik-k. Also the music video is also enjoyable to watch with playful and creative graphics.

MxM

 

MxM is a special duo unit consisting Lim Youngmin (임영민), who got 15th place during the final elimination of Produce 101 season 2, and Kim Donghyun (김동현); who is a part of ‘I Know You Know’ performance of concept evaluation, he eventually gets eliminated during the third elimination. They are both from the same entertainment company, Brand New Music.

After the final elimination of the show and Wanna one’s debut, they debuted as a duo ‘MxM’ (‘Mix and Match’ or ‘More x More’) with their first mini album ‘Unmix’ and title track ‘I’m the one’

‘I’m the one’ a refreshing pop song with a bit of light hip-hop style about confessing to a girl but she still hesitated and confused, ‘I’m the one’ in the lyrics and title means ‘I’m the only one to love you’.

Yoo Seonho (유선호)

Yoo Seonho from Cube Entertainment ranked 17th place during the final elimination. I would say that I’m a fan of his since he has a lively personality and his innocence since he is still 15 year old (oh my god, am I fangirling on a 15 years old boy…..?).

After Produce 101 season 2 ends, He began to debut as an actor, being brand presenters for several products,having a photo shoot for many magazines and being a main actor in a web drama ‘Evil Detective’, Starring A Pink’s Kim Namjoo, Ahn Hyungseob (Produce 101 season 2 contestant) and Yoo Seonho, all of them are the main characters.

Also, Three Produce 101 season 2 contestants, Lim Youngmin, Kim Samuel and Yoo Seonho are filming advertisment video for GS25 minimart.

He is now holding a fanmeeting in both South Korea on 27th October and overseas during November until next year, including Thailand (I really want to attend his fanmeeting but I’m super broke right now).

Even though he was labeled as an actor for now, I guess that he will eventually get to debut as a boy band member with Lai Kuanlin under Cube Entertainment in 2019 after Wanna one’s disbandment.

NU’EST W

 

NU’EST is a boy band with 5 members under Pledis Entertainment, I knew them for the year their get to debut with title track ‘Face’, around 5 years ago. I really like that song, but I didn’t become the fanclub. They are a very high potiental boyband and gain reputation during that time. Unfortunately, the company did not promote them properly and send them to promote in Japan instead, so their reputation has went down.

However, They did not give up. Four of them; Kim Jonghyun, Kang Dongho, Hwang Minhyun and Choi Minki (Except Aron), decided to join Produce 101 season 2 as the contestants. Eventually, all of them gained popularity and Minhyun got to be Wanna One’s member.

After the show ends, Pledis announced that NU’EST will have a comeback as four member unit ‘NU’EST W’. NU'EST W revealed their first teaser image for the special single titled "If You". The single was released on July 25th.

On 10th October 2017, they released a new music video ‘Where you at’. They popularity has ultimately raised that their song gets to be #1 on many South Korean domestic music charts.
